How do teletherapy services work?

I offer teletherapy using a HIPPA-compliant portal called Simple Practice. When you schedule your first session, you'll receive paperwork and a video link for your session from Simple Practice. All intake notes, therapy notes, and credit card information will be stored in Simple Practice.

How long do I need to be in therapy?
Therapy is personalized, with its length depending on your unique needs. Together, we will create a treatment plan and regularly review your progress. I am committed to clear and open communication throughout.

Do you offer reduced fee services?

I allocate 10% of my caseload for clients who need reduced fees. If those spaces are filled, I’m happy to recommend other therapists.​​​

Do you accept insurance?
As an "out of network provider," I do not bill insurance companies directly. However, I will give you a monthly "superbill" containing all necessary information for your reimbursement claim. For those whose insurance plan covers out of network benefits, you may be eligible for a 50-85% reimbursement depending on your insurance provider. Please note that a recorded diagnosis is usually required for "out of network" reimbursements.

By not working with insurance companies, your client confidentiality may be better protected, and restrictive insurance policies can be avoided.

What type of clients do you see?

​I meet with clients who are 18 years old and above. Clients who are best suited for my services include those who are experiencing anxiety, depression, family stress, intergenerational trauma, relationship changes, people pleasing tendencies, self esteem issues, cultural and identity concerns, life transitions, grief and loss, and trauma or PTSD.  â€‹â€‹

How often should I have therapy?
I strongly recommend starting with weekly sessions. I'll normally transition to biweekly or monthly sessions for maintenance after progress has been noted by clients. This is a collaborative decision that will be discussed in session.

 
I don't offer monthly sessions when starting because this may not offer sufficient support for initial progress.

Can I receive therapy services from you, even though I was a client at one of your previous places of training?
Sure! I have approval to meet with clients from previous places of training, but my availability will depend on how many clients I'm currently seeing.
